Specify the spline profile
Include the spline designation or a fully dimensioned profile, tooth count and engagement length. Show the mating drive connection and its fit requirements. An overall shaft diameter alone does not define the spline.
Identify the correct shaft reference
Mark shoulders, bearing and seal contact areas, and the connection to the disc or drive. The original title and specification table use different size references; confirm the required part number and drawing revision before ordering.
Confirm material and inspection
The original title mentions SS431 while the table identifies stainless steel generally. Confirm the exact grade and condition, then define the critical dimensions, surface finish and inspection records for the supplied shaft.
